MOL Group expands recycled polymer production at Tiszaújváros plant
2025.11.10 - 11:37
MOL Group increases its recycling capacity in Hungary with a new PP and PE reprocessing line at Tiszaújváros.
Hungary’s energy and petrochemical leader MOL Group has announced the expansion of its Tiszaújváros recycling complex, adding a new line dedicated to post-consumer PP and PE reprocessing. The investment, worth €35 million, will raise MOL’s recycling capacity to 30,000 tons per year, reinforcing its strategy to become a key regional supplier of recycled polymers.
The new facility integrates mechanical recycling of household and industrial plastic waste with the production of high-quality regranulates certified under ISCC+. According to MOL, the expansion will support the company’s long-term goal of reducing virgin polymer consumption and strengthening circular value chains in Central and Eastern Europe.
The project is also aligned with Hungary’s national climate plan, which targets a 20% increase in recycling capacity by 2030. The recycled material will primarily serve MOL’s compounding units in Hungary and Slovakia.
